Dr Jocalyn Clark is Executive Editor, The Lancet in London, UK. Previously she was Executive Editor at icddr,b in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Senior Editor at PLOS Medicine, and Assistant Editor at The BMJ. She is an advisor to the INDEPTH Network of health surveillance systems, Global Health 5050, and WomenLift Health, and Chair of the governance council of the Canadian Medical Association Journal. In 2014 she was named among the top 100 women leaders in global health and in 2018 founded Canadian Women in Global Health to improve visibility and recognition of women’s leadership. Dr Clark holds a BSc in biochemistry & microbiology, and a MSc and PhD in public health sciences, the latter for which she was a fellow of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Dr Clark is an adjunct professor of medicine at the University of Toronto and an elected fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
